Panthic Instruments: Boosting Efficiency with Entities, Forms, and Licenses
Our mistake to Padh-Shed Gurbani is the root cause of our fragmentation. Therefore, the only solution is making going back to Larivaar a pre-requisite for unity, and then building Panthic Instruments: tools designed to boost our efficiency and collaborative capacity.
The Problem of Misdefined Unity
Currently, we do not have clarity on what exactly Panthic unity means. While some associate it with massive gatherings, others think of it in terms of massive centralization of authority. Unfortunately, both misleading notions distract us from realizing the major benefit that we actually seek from unity: optimizing our resources, and ultimately, increasing our capacity to do more as a Panth.
With that clarity, we can realize that we don’t need a monolith of unity as but simpler small-scale alignments to achieve the same results of optimization, on a per-priority basis.
Foundational Principles
If we want to design tools to glue together our scattered fragments, we need to be clear that organizations are a group of individuals. Therefore, unity starts with individual decisions, and there are three main ones we need:
- Unite with Larivaar: Calibrate yourself for unity by reading Gurbani in the united form of Larivaar
- Prevent Beadbi: Recognize that it is our own responsibility to protect every Saroop Protection of Guru Granth Sahib Ji
- Defend the Panth: Commit to ideological, physical, and technological self-defense of the Panth.
Panthic Instruments
Even though separating unity into specific priorities increases our odds, the underlying misalignments at the organizational level remain a challenge. That is why we need to create Panthic Instruments: tools that help us calibrate for unity and boost our collaborative capacity.
Panthic Entity
Our global community currently uses a variety of legal structures for its organizations. Depending on the country and its jurisdiction, there are requirements require effort to stay in compliance with.
While there is no inherit problem in that, contrasting that with almost no effort to report to our own community raises some concerns:
- What are the implications of that void in affecting our sense of fiduciary duty towards the Panth?
- What tone does that disregard set for a Sikh organization at its inception, and for its future culture?
This dismissal is the reason we need to find an alternative model, and use it as a foundational building block.
As a solution, we could cover differences among all legal structures, and assign a new identity management system on top of it. This way, we can have a unified interface for all Sikh organizations across the globe.
While this shift is subtle, its implications are significant:
- Our point of inception becomes when we form a Panthic Entity
- Starting a Panthic Entity makes us give careful consideration to all foundational principles of unity.
- The formation process establishes a serious sense of fiduciary duty towards the Panth.
While these outcomes would be beneficial, not all organizations should use this option, especially during the experimental period. Therefore, for most organizations, it’s beneficial to use each Panthic Instruments individually, one step at a time.
Panthic Identifier
One problem we need to solve is that of the unique identification of a single initiative from others. That’s why we should use a unique alphanumeric ID that is assigned to all organizations in our global community. This is how simply this meta-instrument makes it possible to connect the functionality of all other instruments to a specific organization.
While Panthic Entities also have the same identifier, they get an additional suffix to distinguish them apart, for example: Organization Name, PE.
Panthic Forms
To create a sense of fiduciary duty towards the Panth, we can use a simple process that requires submitting self-reporting forms.
For example, an annual form could require reporting just the basics:
- First, what is the broader Panthic priority you operate within?
- Within the arena of that priority, what is the specific objective that you are working towards?
- How much were you able to accomplish in the last 12 months?
While it may not seem effective, this first step offers an opportunity to show an initial sense of responsibility towards the Panth.
Then, we can ask additional questions related to the core principles discussed earlier. For example, a Larivaar Form could ask:
- Did you skip Larivaar and use the Padh-Shed form of Gurbani in the last 12 months?
- If yes, what was the reason you couldn’t choose Larivaar?
- How do you plan to remedy this shortcoming over the next 12 months?
These questions offer us the opportunity to take a step as a minor challenge towards unity. Our success, therefore, is exactly in igniting a genuine sense of fiduciary duty and commitment with open choice instead of any coercive mechanism.
Panthic Licenses
Currently, most of our intellectual property generated is scattered and inaccessible to others trying to serve the same Panth. This not only decreases our efficiency but also keeps us from using it as an incentive for unity.
Therefore, we must use Panthic Licenses to:
- Facilitate a seamless exchange between a creator and the interested user.
- Save resources by circulating existing content.
- Offer content as an incentive for others to align with the core principles of unity.
This prevents us from wasting time on things that have already been done. With a simple approach, Panthic Licenses enable a seamless process that produces the same output as unity.
Unique Applications
To make sure there is enough adaptability for multiple scenarios, we can also customize instruments. For example, when there is a need to:
- Raise standards for high-stake initiatives
- Adapt conditions for a special use cases
With that flexibility, we can introduce:
- Specialized Entities: a shared set of expectations for to boost efficiency of similar initiatives.
- Sub-Entities: a decentralization option for larger entities to have their divisions become more autonomous
- Non Nonprofits: an option to introduce alternatives to charities, including for-profit structures that are Panth-Benefitting, Panth-Advancing, and Panth-Serving.
Unity is Yours to Choose
While Panthic Instruments are here to be helpful tools, the actual change towards unity only starts with your personal decision. It’s only your own choices of actions that can spark inspiration in others.
Therefore, let’s do Ardaas so we could embrace unity with Larivaar, success by preventing beadbi, and strength through self-defence of the Panth. Pick one, and transform the future!
